Terms & Conditions

Included in Your Rental Fee:

We provide a chart book to help you navigate and are happy to suggest popular destinations and points of interest. Before your departure, we’ll review the chart book with you to ensure you’re comfortable with the waterways and your planned route. The chart book will be yours to use throughout your rental period.

Additionally, all of our boats are equipped with GPS and depth finders for added convenience and safety. To make navigation even easier, we’ve pre-loaded saved tracks to some of our most popular destinations.

Other items included with your rental:

  • Large bimini top

  • Garmin GPS / depth finder with saved tracks to popular destinations

  • Chartbook with maps of waterways and popular destination information

  • Life jackets (youth, toddler, and infant jackets available upon request)

  • Front and rear anchors

  • Two swim ladders

  • Two fenders

  • All safety equipment

  • Bluetooth radio

  • Dock lines

  • Boat hook

  • Cooler for food and beverages (ice not included but can be purchased next door)

  • Live well (Explorer boats only)

  • Fuel:  All boats start with a full tank of fuel. Upon returning your boat, we will meet you at the fuel pump to refill the tank. You will be responsible for the cost of the fuel used during your rental period. Additionally, you are responsible for any extra fuel costs incurred while the boat is in your possession.

  • Note: Toilets are not available on any of the boats

Boating Experience Requirement:

We require all renters to have prior experience operating a powerboat for their safety and the safety of others. Renting a boat is similar to renting a car—without prior experience, it would not be safe or practical.

Cleaning Policy:

Boat cleaning is included in your rental price. However, if the boat is returned exceptionally dirty, an additional cleaning fee may apply.

Optional Delivery and Pick-Up Service:

While most of our renters prefer to depart and return from our office on the water at Cape Harbour Marina, we offer delivery and pick-up from your dock for rentals of three days or more, for an additional fee. (Call for quote.) Please note, we do not offer boat trailers for deliveries.

Delivery and pick-up times will vary based on our daily launch schedule and staff availability. We will do our best to deliver between 9:00 AM and 11:00 AM and will notify you of the delivery and pick-up windows in advance. Pick-up is typically at 4:00 PM.

Fishing Policy:

Fishing is permitted on our Explorer 150F boats only.

Reservation and Deposit Policy:

A 20% deposit is required to secure your reservation.

  • Full Refund: The deposit is fully refundable if you cancel in writing 30 days or more before your rental start date.

  • Non-Refundable Deposit: If you cancel less than 30 days before your rental start date, the deposit is non-refundable for any reason, including inclement weather. However, it will be honored for up to one year and can be applied toward a future rental.

  • Payment options: Cash and all major credit cards.

Damage and Liability:

  • Renters are responsible for any and all damage to the rental vessel.

  • Theft or loss of the vessel is the sole responsibility of the renter.

  • Optional limited damage coverage and liability coverage are available for added peace of mind during your rental for an additional cost.

Towing Coverage:

Our boats are covered by Tow Boat’s commercial towing coverage for mechanical breakdowns (for which you are not at fault) within the approved boundaries. If you venture outside the designated areas, any towing fees will be your responsibility.
Additionally, towing costs for groundings, negligence, accidents, or running out of fuel are the responsibility of the renter.

Age and Boating License Requirements:

You must be 28 years of age or older to rent a boat from Cape Coral Boat Rentals.

Additionally, if you were born on or after January 1, 1988, Florida law requires that you carry a Boating Safety Education ID Card issued by the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC). If you’ve completed an official boating safety course in another state approved by the National Association of State Boating Law Administrators (NASBLA), your boater education card will be valid in Florida and all states requiring mandatory boater education.

Cancellation Policy:

  • Full Refund: The deposit is fully refundable if you cancel in writing 30 days or more before your rental start date.

  • Non-Refundable Deposit: If you cancel less than 30 days before your rental start date, the deposit is non-refundable for any reason, including inclement weather. However, it will be honored for up to one year and can be applied toward a future rental.

  • Weather-Related Cancellations: In the event of inclement weather before departure, you may reschedule, reduce the number of rental days (if you have a multi-day reservation), or extend your rental dates, subject to availability. Please note that we cannot guarantee the same watercraft will be available.

  • No Refund for Early Returns: Once the rental has commenced, no cancellations or reductions in time or days will be accepted, even if the boat is returned early, including due to inclement weather.

  • Same-Day Cancellations/No-Shows: Any same-day cancellations or no-shows will result in a full charge of the remaining balance due.

Rental Times:

  • Four-Hour Rental: Arrive at the agreed-upon time between 8:30 AM and 11:00 AM to pick up the boat. You’ll have four hours from the time you depart the dock to enjoy your time on the water. Please ensure the boat is returned to the gas dock by RumRunners (next to our office) by the end of your rental period.

  • Full-Day Rental: Arrive anytime between 8:30 AM and 11:00 AM to pick up the boat. The boat must be returned to the gas dock by RumRunners (next to our office) by 4:00 PM.

  • Multi-Day Rental: Arrive anytime between 8:30 AM and 11:30 AM on your first rental day. The boat must be returned to the gas dock by RumRunners (next to our office) by 4:00 PM on your final rental day. Multi-day rentals are for day use only and must be docked at the approved overnight docking location 1/2 hour before sunset. Boats cannot depart until 1/2 hour after sunrise the following day.

  • Late returns: A fee of $75 will be applied for every 30 minutes past your return time.
